Love Birds is the second feature film from talented Kiwi film director Paul Murphy after his 2008 break-out hit feature film Second Hand Wedding – a heart warming comedy that Murphy self-financed, produced and directed.

No stranger to filmmaking – Paul has had over 30 years experience working in the technical field. From a family of successful filmmakers, he started his career working for his father – the legendary film director Geoff Murphy (Goodbye Pork Pie, Never Say Die). Geoff gave Paul his first job as a grip on Never Say Die and many other films followed.

Prior to Second Hand Wedding Paul worked as a Key Grip for more than 15 years, including stellar projects such as King Kong and Lord of the Rings. He ventured out as a Director in 2004 with several television commercials, plus five episodes of children’s TV series The Tribe. For Television New Zealand, Paul directed the hit doco/drama series Sensing Murder between 2006-2009, featuring re-enactments of real life events surrounding unsolved high profile murders in New Zealand.
